84% of all homeless families are headed by a single mother in her 20s, according to the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
Alpha-Omega Miracle Home (AOMH) is a residential transitional housing program in St. Augustine, Florida, for homeless or soon-to-be-homeless single mothers and pregnant women. Our facility can house up to 36 single mothers and children for up to 2 years while the women work to transition to independent, permanent housing.
A staff of on-site professional case managers work with the women and our community partner agencies to help meet the needs of homeless women with children. Alpha-Omega Miracle Home offers women emotional and social support, counseling services with a licensed psychologist or mental health counselor, educational assistance to either complete high school or attend community college, and help them achieve financial security through employment.
AOMH helps our resident mothers secure childcare, clothing, baby items and transportation while they are working towards self-sufficiency. All these needs are provided at a truly affordable fee, substantially below our cost. No one is ever turned away for financial reasons and program fees are only required once our residents begin working so as to create a realistic foundation for their self-sufficiency.
Our organization, all the staff and volunteers, are here to support single mothers, whether they choose parenting or the gift of adoption.
Alpha-Omega Miracle Home is a faith-based organization. Modeled on Christian values, the program has a lasting impact on the lives of these mothers and children.
